Surface area of a cylinder.

The surface area of a cylinder is the sum of the areas of its two circular faces and the area of its lateral surface.

  • The area of each circular face is πr², where r is the radius of the base.
  • The area of the lateral surface is 2πrh, where h is the height of the cylinder.

Therefore, the total surface area of a cylinder is:

Surface area = 2πr² + 2πrh

where r is the radius of the base and h is the height of the cylinder.
