Prayer Request Team Ministry Expectations

Purpose:

  • To provide a confidential and compassionate forum for individuals to submit prayer requests.
  • To lift up prayer requests to God on behalf of those in need.
  • To foster a sense of community and support through prayer.

Responsibilities:

Team Members:

  • Confidentiality: Maintain complete confidentiality regarding all prayer requests received.
  • Prayerfulness: Commit to regular prayer, both individually and as a team.
  • Availability: Be available to receive and pray over prayer requests promptly.
  • Compassion: Treat all requests with sensitivity and empathy.
  • Proactive: Reach out to individuals who have submitted prayer requests to offer encouragement and support.

Prayer Coordinator:

  • Oversight: Oversee the overall operation of the prayer team.
  • Communication: Establish clear communication protocols for receiving and distributing prayer requests.
  • Training: Provide training and support to team members.
  • Evaluation: Regularly assess the effectiveness of the prayer team ministry and make necessary adjustments.

Expectations for Prayer Requests:

  • Legitimate Needs: Prayer requests should be for genuine spiritual or practical needs.
  • Appropriate Content: Requests should be respectful and not include offensive or divisive language.
  • Personal Information: Requestors should be encouraged to provide their first name and a brief description of their request.
  • Confidentiality: Prayer team members are not permitted to share prayer requests or details with others outside of the team.

Protocol for Receiving and Responding to Prayer Requests:

  • Submission: Requests can be submitted via designated channels (e.g., email, website, phone).
  • Acknowledgement: The prayer coordinator or a designated team member should acknowledge receipt of all requests within a timely manner.
  • Prayer: Team members should pray over requests immediately and continue to pray regularly.
  • Follow-Up: The prayer coordinator or a designated team member may reach out to requestors for updates on their needs or to provide additional support.
  • Closure: When a request has been resolved or a satisfactory level of support has been provided, the prayer coordinator should close the request.

Other Expectations:

  • Team Meetings: Regular team meetings are encouraged to foster communication, share updates, and provide mutual support.
  • Spiritual Growth: Prayer team members should prioritize their own spiritual growth and walk with God.
  • Accountability: Prayer team members should be held accountable to their commitments and expectations.
  • Respect: All members of the team should treat each other with respect and kindness.
