Materials:
- Massage oil or lotion
- Comfortable chair or bed
Instructions:
Step 1: Preparation
- Wash your hands and the affected foot.
- Apply a small amount of massage oil or lotion to the area.
Step 2: Deep Tissue Massage
- Use your fingers to apply firm pressure to the base of the bunion.
- Hold the pressure for a few seconds, then release.
- Repeat this step several times, gradually increasing the pressure.
Step 3: Circular Massage
- Using your fingertips, gently massage the area around the bunion in circular motions.
- Apply light pressure and continue for a few minutes.
Step 4: Kneading Massage
- Use your thumb and forefinger to gently knead the soft tissue around the bunion.
- Apply gentle pressure and massage for a few minutes.
Step 5: Stretching
- Using your thumb, gently pull the skin away from the bunion.
- Hold the stretch for a few seconds, then release.
- Repeat this step several times.
Step 6: Toe Separation
- Gently separate the toes on the affected foot.
- Place a small ball between the toes to help maintain the separation.
- Hold the position for a few minutes.
Step 7: Relaxation
- Finish the massage with gentle circular motions over the entire foot.
- Apply a warm foot soak or ice pack for additional relief.
